The essence of Andara Digital was originally founded in 1995 as Dallas-based FS3 Interactive. From 1995 to 1998, FS3 established itself as a leader in the southwest for Internet solutions and was one of the first Web developers to adopt measurable Return On Investment (ROI) as a benchmark for project success. Clients included; Quaker State, Dr Pepper/Seven-Up, Cyrix, Interstate Batteries, The Federal Reserve Bank, Hotel Reservations Network (Hotels.com), Flowserve and many other Fortune 1000 firms.
In 1998, the Internet services industry began to consolidate as many of the leading players banded together to form larger publicly traded entities. FS3 joined twelve other companies from around the world to form Rare Medium (NASDAQ: RRRR). Along with many others in the Internet sector, Rare Medium enjoyed tremendous success. Over the next 18 months, Rare grew from less than 100 people and $14 million in revenue, to over 1100 people and $120 million in revenue.
In the spring of 2000, the country witnessed the collapse of the Internet bubble. Almost over night, demand for interactive solutions dropped significantly. As a result, many of the once high-flying Internet agencies either collapsed or merged in a scramble to stay alive. Rare Medium was no exception. By the fall of 2001, Rare Medium publicly announced that they were exiting the Internet services arena.
Through a series of events, the original founder of FS3 Interactive took the remnants of Rare's Dallas operations and reassembled them under a new name. Andara Digital was born. One week after Rare Medium announced that they were no longer in the Internet services business, the Andara team renegotiated leases, purchased assets and moved into one of Rare Medium's old Dallas offices. Andara Digital immediately began the process of pursuing Rare Medium clients and re-employing a portion of the original FS3 talent pool. Today, Andara Digital has no affiliation with Rare Medium.
Andara has taken the lessons of the crash, learned from them, and reestablished itself as leading regional provider of interactive solutions. In April of 2002, Andara was recognized in DFW Tech Biz as one of the industry's survivors and was named "Developer of the Year" by the Havvas agency Brann Worldwide (Euro RSCG). In early 2003, Brann selected Andara Digital as their exclusive digital agency.
With client wins across the board, including major wins at AMC and JCPenney, Andara Digital is proving that there is still a market for companies that provide quality products and services for a reasonable price. The company provides a diverse range of marketing and technology services from Internet and Intranet site development through enterprise solutions and ongoing search marketing.
